One of the most popular TED talks is Sir Kenneth Robinson who explores the educational system and its unfortunate capacity to stifle Creativity.
His key message was that from an early age children are educated away from innovation and
towards a core hierarchy of academic subjects designed to support 19th century industrialisation
and turn them all into mini university professors. Our global education system still believes that
academic ability is more important than innovation, and it dominates our views of intelligence. He
also argued that university degrees will be so ubiquitous in the future that they will cease to have
any value.
At Whitespace we value creativity and innovation just as much as any other ability, so much so that
we’ve developed workshops that help you re-energise and rediscover that genius little inventive
spark that might have been “schooled” out of you without you even realising.
